Alliance Francaise de Bangkok is proud to present the photo exhibition “Hanoi and its inhabitants, contemporary view” by French photographer Nicolas Cornet from April 28 to May 15, 2011 (closed on Monday) at Alliance Francaise’s media library. Admission is free of charge.
For the past 24 years, Nicolas Cornet has been aiming his viewfinder at the Vietnamese capital, its inhabitants and the way they have evolved.
His chromatic and considered vision plunges us into peoples’ daily lives, to places that are quintessentially Hanoi along with the new urban spaces of a changing city. A Hanoi opens to the heat of tropical winds and releasing its very being into the moist air. Xôi and green tea scented meditation as photography.
On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition on April 28, Jean-Claude Pomonti (text) and Nicolas Cornet (photographer) will sign their book Hanoi published in 2010 (English and French versions)
