ร่างนกไร้ชีวิตในภาพถ่าย...

หากเมื่อพิจารณาดูใกล้ๆ มันคือภาพของใบไม้แห้งที่โอบห่อขนนกเอาไว้ ธณัฐชัย บรรดาศักดิ์ สร้าง"รูป"นี้ โดยเลียนแบบสิ่งที่เขาพบเจอ ขณะเดินอยู่ในป่าที่บ้านของเขาในจังหวัดอุดรธานี การบันทึกสั่งสมสิ่งของ เหตุการณ์ รวมถึงประสบการณ์จากชีวิตประจำวัน ศิลปินไม่ได้ต้องการ ค้นหาอะไรอย่างเฉพาะเจาะจง หากแต่ความสัมพันธ์และเรื่องราวของสิ่งเหล่านั้นค่อยปรากฎขึ้น ภายหลัง “ผมบันทึกภาพต่างๆ เมื่อผมรู้สึกอะไรบางอย่างกับมัน ต่อมาในขั้นตอนการเรียบเรียง ความสัมพันธ์และเรื่องราวต่างๆก็ปรากฎขึ้น” ศิลปินกล่าว “จากนั้น จะเป็นกระบวนการถอดรูป-ถอดความ จนสิ่งต่างๆเหล่านั้น แปรเปลี่ยน และถ่ายเทไปสู่อีกสิ่ง” เขาเพิ่มเติม

"Go, Said the Bird" ผลงานล่าสุดของธณัฐชัย มุ่งสำรวจความเป็นไปได้ ในการส่งผ่านเรื่องราว ของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างธรรมชาติของการมีอยู่ และแก่นแท้ของสิ่งต่างๆ วัตถุที่เปรียบเสมือน เครื่องมือในการถ่ายทอดความคิด ถูกสร้างขึ้นสำหรับนิทรรศการ แผ่นไม้ทรงกลมวางพิงไว้กับ โครงสร้างโปร่งที่ทำจากเหล็ก รวมถึงโต๊ะไม้ที่ตั้งอยู่ในห้องสีขาว ทั้งสองสิ่งชี้ชวนให้นึกถึงความรู้สึก ของการเปลี่ยนผ่าน และสภาวะไร้น้ำหนัก บางสิ่งที่มีรูปทรงอันแน่ชัด และสัมผัสได้จากการปรากฏ ของมัน โดยแท้จริงแล้ว คือสิ่งที่ไร้รูปถาวร ผลงานของธณัฐชัยเชื้อเชิญให้เรารับรู้ ถึงมิติของ “นาม” ผ่านประสบการณ์และผัสสะของเราเอง

ธณัฐชัย บรรดาศักดิ์ จบการศึกษาระดับปริญญาโทจาก École Nationale Supérieure D'ARTS Paris-Cergy ประเทศฝรั่งเศส ในปีพ.ศ. 2554 ก่อนหน้านั้น เข้ารับการศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัย ธรรมศาสตร์ สาขาภาพยนตร์และภาพนิ่ง ธณัฐชัยสร้างผลงานภาพเคลื่อนไหว ซึ่งได้รับเชิญและฉาย ในเทศกาลระดับนานาชาติ เช่น Hamburg International Short Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam และ Rencontres Internationales at Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris รวมถึงมีผลงานศิลปะจัดวางล่าสุด "Circuit" ที่ Messy project Space กรุงเทพฯ และ "Black out" ที่ Gallery Artenact เมืองปารีส

On closer inspection, it is a feather wrapped in a dead leaf. Tanatchai Bandasak created this figure according to what he found during a walk in the woods in his hometown, Udonthani. Accumulating definite objects, events and experiences from his daily life, the artist is in search of nothing in particular, but later their associations are found. "I just captured them when it felt right. Later in the editing process, I found their connections, a narration" said the artist. "Then, all that was found is taken into the process of abstracting" he added.

"Go, Said the Bird", Bandasak's current work explores the possibilities of transmitting the inter-relation of the nature of existence and substance of things. By doing so, devices for an exhibition are created, a wooden discus leaning against an air-frame-structure and a wooden table standing in a white-washed room. These devices suggest the sensation of being in-transit and weightlessness. Something solid and tangible in their appearance are, in fact, amorphous. Bandasak's work invites us to create more depth in the light of our own experience.

Tanatchai Bandasak graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure D'ARTS Paris-Cergy in 2011. Before that he studied film and photography at the Thammasat University in Bangkok. Bandasak has produced many moving-image works, which have been screened worldwide including the Hamburg International Short Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam and Rencontres Internationales at Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris. His recent installation works include "Circuit" at Messy project Space, Bangkok and "Black out", Gallery Artenact, Paris.
