Event Description

Number 1 Gallery is pleased to present the art exhibition
When I lost my standpoint by Poom Pechavanish

As human beings, we all stand for our beliefs and opinions. If we are ever to loose that, some says that it could lead to much more consequential losses in our lives.
But on the contrary, if we allow ourselves of ridding some of those basis we might be able to grow into something bigger and better, as the dead fuels the living in nature.
The concept is the core of this set of work. At my time of loosing an important part of my life, for the lack of my own standpoint, I have created a series of character symbolizing the emotions that I am experiencing during the process. Some of them represents sadness and despair while some represents hope and opportunities for growth, showing the optimistic side of loosing a curtain elements in your life that might eventually brings you to find yourself once again.
'loss' naturally causes 'pain' which leads us to question our existence. And those questions had led me to journal all my undesirable torturous emotions in the form of artworks. Along this unpleasant journey, I have little by little regained back my essence and point of view that I have lost in my hour of joy. Not that 'joy' is bad for you, but sometimes the opposite could also be a healthy medicine.
