Riku Mäkinen is mostly working with silkscreen, but he has also worked a lot on various different medias like performances, sound, and installations. His work is often dealing with the power structures in society between institutions and individual beings. As an artist Mäkinen takes a position of an observer and shows how he see things in the community . Works are political, but they don´t give any easy or direct answers. Riku Mäkinen also thinks that Europe is heading for
the New Middle Ages.
In Chiangmai Mäkinen exhibits five lithographic prints called "Monuments". Partly transparent constructions are versions of a monuments of dictatorships in the modern western society where the
politics of suppression is often hidden behind "good deeds" – not revealing its corrupted, nationalist, economic or phobic real reason.
Mäkinen has also collaborated with Hamm in in pieces called Cultural pieces and Meeting the Unknown but Hamm already sent you some info about them.
Orawan is often working with mixed medias/installation/video. As experience in her different culture and attitude aspect between western and eastern society, she discovered Thai way of thinking, living and believing.
Exhibition in Chiang Mai, she presents her works in mixed media/art performance by waring white t-shirt written "เสื้อตัวนี้สี....." (This T-shirt is ………color). She aims to insert Thai political aspect.
