Ms. Match เป็นนิทรรศการภาพถ่ายเดี่ยวครั้งแรกของ ศุภกร ศรีสกุล ช่างภาพจากกรุงเทพฯ ซึ่งเป็นที่รู้จักจากภาพถ่ายอันใกล้ชิด เถรตรง และท้าทาย จากโลกยามราตรีของบุคคลเพศที่สาม Ms. Match เป็นผลพวงจากความพยายามของศุภกร ที่จะเปิดเผยแง่มุมที่ไม่มีใครพูดถึง ในชิวิตที่ถูกตีตราของเหล่ากระเทย แต่นอกเหนือไปจากนี้ ศุภกรไม่เคยมีความคิด ที่จะตั้งตัวเองเป็นผู้บันทึกเหตุการณ์ทั้งหมด ในชิวิตแปลกแยกของบุคคลอื่น เขาไม่ได้เดินรอยตามการบันทึกเหตุการของสิ่งและเหตุการณ์ที่ไม่ธรรมดา อย่างที่เคยเห็นกันจนชินตา แต่เขาเลือกที่จะให้เหตุการณ์ต่างๆที่ได้พบเจอ เป็นตัวสะท้อนแง่มุมปิดบังของตัวเอง ในที่ของกล้องถ่ายภาพ ศุภกรกลับถือกระจกสะท้อนสองด้าน และแทนที่จะเป็นคนเก็บภาพ เขาเองกลับถูกบันทึกเข้าไปด้วย

Soopakorn Srisakul

Ms. Match (Miss Match) is the first solo-exhibition by Bangkok photographer Soopakorn Srisakul. Known for his intimate, often-daring and unabashed look into the nocturnal world of transgender people, Ms. Match represents the fruit of the Soopakorn’s labour to reveal the little known facets of much-stigmatised lives of the Kratoeys. More than that, however, is the fact that Soopakorn never once intended to be an all-encompassing chronicler of the lives of the secluded others. Instead of the saturated tropes of documenting the exotics, the photographer chose to portray them as pieces of reflection that reveal his own hidden self. Instead of the camera, Soopakorn holds up a two-ways mirror, and instead of capturing, Soopakorn in turn ended up being captured as well.
