100 ต้นสนแกลเลอรี่ต้อนรับปี 2010 ด้วยนิทรรศการ Living Room , (visual and sound installation) กับการปฏิบัติการณ์ร่วมกันระหว่างดนตรีและทัศนศิลป์ จากศิลปินและนักแต่งเพลง จิรเดช และปรินดา เสตะพันธ์ อโณทัย นิติพน และคธา แสงแข
นิทรรศการครั้งนี้เป็นการคัดเลือกผลงานโดย ธนาวิ โชติประดิษฐ ภัณฑรักษ์ หลังเรียนจบมหาบัณฑิตด้านประวัติศาสตร์ศิลปะ จาก Leiden University ณ ประเทศเนเธอแลนด์ โดย 100 ต้นสนแกลเลอรี่ ได้มอบทุนส่วนนึง ในการศึกษาต่อในครั้งนี้
เรารับรู้ตัวตนของพื้นที่ว่างได้อย่างไร ทำอย่างไรเราจึงจะรับรู้ตัวตนของสิ่งที่จับต้องมองเห็นไม่ได้ แม้ “ขอบเขต” ของพื้นที่ว่างอย่างกำแพงจะทำให้เรารู้ถึง “ขนาด” แต่ก็ไม่ได้ทำให้เรารับรู้ตัวพื้นที่ว่างนั้นๆ คำถามนี้เกี่ยวข้องกับประเด็นพื้นฐานที่สำคัญที่สุดอย่างหนึ่งของศิลปะอันว่าด้วยการนำเสนอ (representation) และการรับรู้ (perception) ทัศนศิลป์คือการทำสิ่งไร้รูปให้มีรูป ดนตรีทำให้เรารับรู้ตัวตนของสิ่งต่างๆ ผ่านการได้ยิน

ด้วยแรงบันดาลใจจากผลงาน ‘I’m sitting in a room’ ของ Alvin Lucier นิทรรศการ Living Room โดยจิรเดช และปรินดา เสตะพันธ์ อโณทัย นิติพน และคธา แสงแข คือปฏิบัติการณ์ร่วมกันระหว่างดนตรีและทัศนศิลป์ เพื่อสร้างตัวตนของพื้นที่ว่างสู่การรับรู้ ผลงานติดตั้งจัดวาง Living Room จะเปลี่ยน 100 ต้นสนแกลเลอรี่ให้เป็น “ห้องที่มีชีวิต” มีจังหวะของหัวใจและลมหายใจ

ภายในนิทรรศการจะประกอบไปด้วยผลงานเสียงที่ร่วมกันแต่งขึ้นมาใหม่โดยจิรเดช และ อโณทัย และผลงานทัศนศิลป์ในรูปแบบประติมากรรมและการจัดวาง โดยปรินดา และ คธา

Living Room

100 Tonson Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition “Living Room” (visual and sound installation) by Jiradej and Prinda Setabundhu Anothai Nitibhon Kata Sangkae, curated by Thanavi Chotpradit. This is the show that showcasing what Thanavi has earned from her Master Degree in Art History at Leiden University, the Netherland. As part of the grants by 100 Tonson Gallery, this is the contribution by the curator.


How could one make the space perceivable? Even the space exists when having the edge identified (by the wall, for instance), it is not precisely to make us sense the space itself. Beyond knowing the size of the space we are being in, how can we “feel” it? How can we conceive the existence of the intangible?

These questions around the existence of the space are the questions of representation and perception. It is all about the “in-between” absence and presence. If art makes the invisible visible and music makes the non-audible audible, the colorless-mute space, the air, may come into being by the help of these medium. Inspired by Alvin Lucier’s ‘I’m sitting in a room,’ Jiradej and Prinda Setabundhu (composer, visual artist), Anothai Nitibhon (composer), and Kata Sangkae (visual artist) work together in ‘Living Room,’ the collaborative project that aims to make existence of space perceivable. As a site specific, visual and sound installation, 100 Tonson Gallery will be transformed into the “Living Room,” the room that has a live, a heart beating and a breath taking.

Jiradej and Anothai will compose a new sound while Prinda and Kata will do sculpture and installation.
