ฝ่ายนิทรรศการ หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมกรุงเทพมหานคร นำเสนอ Early Years Project ซึ่งเป็นโครงการบ่มเพาะศิลปินรุ่นใหม่หรือศิลปินที่อยู่ในช่วงเริ่มต้นของการทำงาน เพื่อให้พวกเขาสามารถสร้างสรรค์ จัดแสดง และ พัฒนาผลงานของตน ได้อย่างต่อเนื่องและมีประสิทธิภาพ

จากการเปิดรับผลงานจากศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ในช่วงเวลาที่ผ่านมาผลงานของ 12 ศิลปินซึ่งผ่านเข้ารอบแรกในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน จะจัดแสดงบนพื้นที่ชั้น 7 หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร ระหว่างวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ - 26 มีนาคม 2560 โดยศิลปินเจ้าของผลงานทั้ง 12 ท่านจะต้องนำเสนอขั้นตอนความคิดและกระบวนการสร้างสรรค์ ควบคู่ไปกับผลงานที่จัดแสดงเพื่อเป็นปัจจัยในการพิจารณาผลงานดีเด่นในขั้นตอนสุดท้าย โดยในครั้งแรกนี้ เนื้อหาของโครงการ “Early Years ครั้งที่ 1 : Thisorder” นำเสนอแนวความคิดซึ่งได้มาจากผลงานอันหลากหลายของศิลปินที่ส่งเข้าร่วมโครงการและได้รับการคัดเลือก ที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงการจัดลำดับใหม่ของศิลปินทั้งในทัศนคติทางศิลปะ เนื้อหาและแรงบันดาลใจ เทคนิคและรูปแบบของการแสดงออก รวมไปถึงคุณประโยชน์และหน้าที่ของศิลปะ สื่อสารการปรับเปลี่ยนโครงสร้างทางการรับรู้ การตั้งคำถามของศิลปิน
และการประกอบขึ้นมาซึ่งความหมายใหม่

นอกเหนือจากผลงานของศิลปินแล้ว โครงการยังนำเสนอกิจกรรมปฏิบัติการและสัมมนาในโครงการ "ศิลป์อยู่เป็น" ซึ่งเป็นการดำเนินงานโดยกลุ่มเทนเทเคิล เพื่อเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการ Y.A.N (Young Artist Network by BACC) จัดขึ้นในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าว ซึ่งเนื้อหาของกิจกรรมนี้มุ่งเน้นในการบ่มเพาะความรู้และทักษะเฉพาะสำหรับศิลปินรุ่นใหม่ เปิดให้แก่กลุ่มศิลปินและผู้สนใจได้เข้าร่วม

จากการนำเสนอผลงานของศิลปินในครั้งนี้ เมื่อสิ้นสุดโครงการ ทางคณะกรรมการจะคัดเลือกผลงานดีเด่น เพื่อรับทุนสนับสนุนการเดินทางของศิลปิน (mobility funding) จำนวน 1 ทุนรางวัล และทุนในการเป็นศิลปินในพำนัก (artist residency) จำนวน 1 ทุนรางวัล

Comment by NEWS PORTFOLIOS*NET on January 26, 2017 at 11:34pm: The Exhibition Department of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) hereby presents the Early Years Project – an initiative conceived to foster young or up-and-coming artistic talents, providing them with regular opportunities to create, display, and develop their works effectively.

Following the call for submission, 12 selected works are showcased on the 7th floor of the BACC from 24 February -26 March 2017. All twelve qualifying artists must present details of their creative processes and concept at the given space. The presentation will be used as an evaluation criteria for outstanding work at the final process. For this first showcase, the theme “Thisorder” captures ideas drawn from a wide-array of concepts introduced by selected candidates. It exhibits the artists’ efforts to shift artistic perspectives, discourse, motivation, techniques and medium. In addition, it highlights the merits and role of art as an object of communication that adjust audience’s perceptions and explores the artists’ attempts to question, reinterpret, and turn particular ideas into a new concept.

Apart from 12 artworks, EARLY YEARS PROJECT #1 : Thisorder also hosts activities and seminar under the theme “The Art of Surviving in the Arts” by Tentacles Group – a framework under the Young Artist Network by BACC (Y.A.N.). The focus of the workshops lies on fostering and equipping the new artists with technical skills and knowledge. Both artists and public are invited to join.

Following the project’s conclusion, the panel of judges will select two outstanding artists as the winners of one mobility funding and one artist residency scholarship.
