In “Better Days”, Ephameron (Antwerp, Belgium) presents her recent works in Bangkok for the first time.
As an illustrator and artist, she travels the world to curate shows, exhibit and teach.
For the practice-based PhD in the Arts she is currently undertaking, she creates graphic narratives on different facets of motherhood.
By looking for multiple voices and interweaving her own stories with experiences of others,
Ephameron moves away from autobiography into fiction. The series “This is My Life” for example, uses her young son’s first selfies
as a starting point to reframe these images into new watercolour compositions that study key visual elements like depth, whitespace and contrast.
During her art residency at print collective and gallery Humble Projects, Ephameron researches local spaces and
tries to unveil traces from their past. By observing residents and structures in the neighbourhood and documenting the daily variations
of life, she will create a series of images that will be printed on Humble Project’s letterpresses.
