WHY IMPRESSING? : A Gallery’s Collection of 8 Artists’ work

Numthong Gallery ได้ดำเนินกิจกรรมทางศิลปะเข้าสู่ปีที่ 16 ในฐานะแกลลอรี่ศิลปะร่วมสมัยที่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการนำเสนอศิลปิน และงานศิลปะคุณภาพทั้งไทย และต่างประเทศ ซึ่งในวันนี้ได้โยกย้าย ขยายพื้นที่จัดแสดงให้กว้างขวาง และเดินทางสะดวกมากขึ้น บนพื้นที่แห่งใหม่ภายใต้ชื่อ Numthong Gallery at Aree ตั้งอยู่ในซอยพหลโยธิน 7 (อารีย์ 5 ฝั่งเหนือ) เขตพญาไท กรุงเทพฯ

ซึ่งในนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ จะเป็นการนำเสนอผลงานสะสมส่วนหนึ่งของแกลลอรี่ เป็นตัวแทนความประทับใจของคุณนำทอง แซ่ตั้ง สิบกว่าปีที่ผ่านมาในฐานะการเป็นตัวแทนให้กับศิลปิน นำเสนอผลงานศิลปะที่มีคุณภาพให้กับนักสะสม สาธารณชน และผู้สนใจ และในนิทรรศการ “Why Impressing ? : A Gallery’s Collection” ครั้งนี้จึงเป็นโอกาสอันดีที่จะได้เผยแพร่ผลงานย้อนหลังบางชิ้นงาน รวมถึงผลงานที่หาดูได้ยากของศิลปินอย่าง กมล เผ่าสวัสดิ์, คามิน เลิศชัยประเสริฐ, นิติ วัตุยา, นที อุตฤทธิ์, ไมเคิล เชาวนาศัย, วสันต์ สิทธิเขตต์, สุรสีห์ กุศลวงศ์ และอรรถสิทธิ์ อนิวรรตน์ชน

แม้จะเป็นผลงานเพียงส่วนหนึ่งที่เก็บสะสมจากความชอบส่วนตัว จากความหลงไหลที่เป็นต้นกำเนิดของการก่อตั้งแกลลอรี่ ทว่าผลงานทุกๆ ชิ้นที่นำมาเผยแพร่ครั้งนี้ล้วนมีเรื่องเล่าที่ไม่เพียงสะท้อนแรงบันดาลใจของศิลปิน แต่ยังสะท้อนให้เห็นความสุข ความหวัง ความสำเร็จ บนเส้นทางศิลปะของ Numthong Gallery

Entering its 16th year of operation as a contemporary art gallery, Numthong Gallery has presented various local and foreign artists and their quality works. Today it has relocated to the new larger space within more convenient reach, “Numthong Gallery at Aree”, in Soi Phaholyothin 7 (Aree 5 North), Phyathai District, Bangkok.

This exhibition will showcase some of the gallery’s collection to represent Numthong Sae Tang’s over ten years of impressions in presenting quality works on behalf of the artists, to collectors, enthusiasts, and the public. “Why Impressing? : A Gallery’s Collection”, is a great opportunity to introduce some retrospective works, including rarely seen pieces from artists like Attasit Aniwatchon, Kamin Lertchaiprasert, Kamol Phaosavasdi, Michael Shaowanasai, Natee Utarit, Niti Wattuya, Surasi Kusolwong and Vasan Sitthiket.

These works are part of a private collection selected by personal preference and fascination, which are the origin of this gallery establishment. Every piece has its own narrative that not only reflects the artist’s inspiration, but also happiness, hope and success along the path of Numthong Gallery in the art world.
