These works by New York artist Craig Anczelowitz incorporate famed Awagami handmade papers as key aesthetic components to his multi-layered compositions. Anczelowitz, who has exhibited internationally for over 20 years, spends considerable time in Japan working alongside Awagami’s master craftsmen on art projects and ‘washi’ paper developments. His new works (created here in Bangkok) express a beautiful ‘Space Between’ Eastern and Western aesthetics culled from his life between Japan, Thailand and New York………..Pigment prints, indigo paper, geishas, mathematics, metal and magnets seamlessly intermix in these ‘cross-continental’ collages of wit and whimsy.
