Event Description
Thavibu Gallery is pleased to present "The Lion Whisperer" – drawings of Chinese Guardian Lions on paper by the Japanese artist Naomi Oka on 10 - 31 March, 2012.
Naomi Oka is a long term resident of Thailand who have pursued her art studies at Silapakorn University under the guidance of Professors Parinya Tantisuk and Panya Wijintanasarn. She is a graduate from Bunka Gakuin College of Fine art, Tokyo.
The artist says: “Chinese Lions whisper to me.... They are tutelary deities with lovable and lively facial expressions. I feel the pulse of nameless creators coming from them. Art and the creation process revive my five senses and expand my capacity.”
