Background and significance of the creation 


History began when humans started to record events in writing. Its intention to be a reminder and a means to preserve the past. However, history is a word with layers of meaning. The major one being generally understood is that signifies all past events of humanity or all of humans past since the first appearance of mankind until the last past second. However, the story ovarious incidents in the past that we have come to know and understood were created by historians about things that happened in connection with “asking a question”. The question is philosophical in nature such as what was the cause and why. The character of these questions by default has an impact on the way posteriority thought and is a valuable reflection of social outlook.

Other than making records by writing, human throughout history also make records via pictures such as ceremonies connected to spiritual believes that can be seen on cave walls. These records would ripple effectively through time and accordingly they transformed into narration of religious stories made with finest craftsmanship that appeared on temple walls throughout the western and eastern civilizations. In the Thai communities, since ancient time, paintings were traditionally used to narrate folk stories, way of life and Buddhist legends. Thai painters would paint one scene to the next systematically for the audience to be able to follow the story from the beginning to the end. 

Painting has always been an important historical tool for the chronicle of civilizations. It relay memories of a circumstance experienced by a society to later generations through the pictorial contents. Such as what happened to Thai society in the past decade, it had encountered an internal conflict that led to what could be call a war of intellection. Originated from political and administrative factions it caused a general atmosphere of mistrust and suspicion. Living through this tribulation I portrayed what I observed and felt personally to make a record of a contemporary situation in my own point of view.
