How well do you know Thai art?
Please join us for the opening of ‘OriginOriginality: A New Wave of Thai Art’, A Young
Thai contemporary art exhibition at Forty7
Gallery, London on the 3rd of October 2012.
For more information and to arrange an
interview, please see below for contact details.
Presented for the first time in London, these three young Thai artists will challenge your
perceptions of Southeast Asian Art. Tatiya Udomsawat and Peerawayt Krasaesom
are among the most talented artists of a new generation.
Also featured here is a leading artist, Maitree Siriboon. His staged photography has
gained him recognition worldwide featuring in a Christieʼs Auction and exhibitions from
Paris to New York.
In this age of cultural globalization, their works are far cry from being traditional. Yet,
each piece can be traced back to the past, to the artistsʼ childhood memories and the
origin of their individuality and creativity. Here, the local and the global, the past and the
future are inseparable.
Curated by Nim Niyomsin, this exhibition will be showcased at Forty7 Gallery on Vyner
Street joining the diverse and vibrant art scene of East London.
