Photography Art Exhibition @ Wishbeer the Vue with Dax Ward

ขอเชิญเข้าร่วมชมงานนิทรรศการภาพถ่าย Abandonia ที่ร้าน Wishbeer the Vue โดยช่างภาพ Dax Ward ชาวอเมริกัน ผู้รวบรวมภาพถ่ายของวัฒนธรรมที่ถูกลืมและสถานที่ต่างๆในประเทศไทย เช่น โรงภาพยนตร์แบบ stand alone, ไนท์คลับ, แกลอรี่ และห้างสรรพสินค้า

-วันเปิดนิทรรศการ วันอังคารที่ 26 มิถุนายน 2561 เวลา 18.30-22.00
ผู้ที่มาร่วมงานจะได้รับส่วนลด 25% สำหรับเบียร์สดและเบอร์เกอร์ ตามรายการที่ทางร้านกำหนด และการกล่าวเปิดงานของช่างภาพ

-ภาพถ่ายที่แสดงในงานทั้งหมดสำหรับขาย และจะจัดแสดงเป็นเวลาหนึ่งเดือนจนถึงวันอังคารที่ 24 กรกฎาคม 2561 ภายในร้าน Wishbeer the Vue

• Opening night is on Tuesday the 26th of June from 6:30 to 10pm. Come and enjoy 25% OFF on tap beers as well as burger deals and the artist's speech.

• All featured photographs are for sale and will be displayed for one month until Tuesday the 24th of July inside Wishbeer @the Vue.

• Concept
Every derelict location in Thailand has its own individual history, but each one is connected in the the sense that they are reminders of what once was, what might’ve been, and what happens when we forget. They are no longer freshly painted, not shiny and new anymore. Windows are broken. Doors, furniture, light fixtures, and most metal has been either stolen or scrapped. They are not as they once were, nor will they ever again be. Nonetheless, despite the decay and rust that many see as unsightly blots on the landscape, the allure for urban explorers and photographers lies in identifying and capturing the remaining beauty in these forgotten locations. If we look closely, it isn’t hard to find.

• The Artist: Dax Ward
Originally, from Arkansas in the US, Dax has been in Asia since 2003. He’s hung his hat in Bangkok since August of ’07, the city that he loves for its cultural vibrance and the fact that at any given moment he can find something remarkable to capture. Dax’s main gig is as an ICT teacher, and he’s only been shooting photography seriously for the past 3 years. Although he’s fresh in the game, Dax’s work is routinely featured in some well-known international publications including CNN Style, The Daily Mail, The Guardian and many others. Dax has been focused on urban exploration imagery for a while, having documented over 40 abandoned sites in Thailand, The US and South Africa.
However, his heart has always been in street portraiture, especially in this City of Angels (and a few devils), the BKK.
