Exhibition “Considerateness in Design”
The catch phrases of “Be considerate…That’s all right…Anything whatever” are the indoctrinated wisdom in the behaviors, utterances, traditions, ways of life and spirits of Thai people which had been continuously inherited from the ancestry to the next generation. As a result, it became the archetype of expressive culture through the disposition and deed including the styles of architectural art and appliances in the professions. Although the significance of above-mentioned phrases are simple but also connote with the characteristics of Thai cultural identities; generosity, kindness, mutual dependence, thoughtfulness, respect, humbleness, compromise, adaptation with the contexts of nature, environment and society in the living pattern of sufficiency economy.
From Mode of Considerateness
To Considerateness in Design
Even though Thais in the previous times had the considerateness in one’s blood, on the other hand, the considerateness has been gradually evaporating in the trend of globalization and several cultural assimilations. All of them originated the conservative and creative concepts in the works of design arts through several fields, many artists and designers recognized and approached in the aesthetic value with various interpretations under the differential viewpoints; observance of rights, self-perception, wide berth and etc. so as to introspectively build up the specific characteristics and existences of traditions, livelihoods and cultures in harmony with trends of Thai contemporary living. They are an origin of several dissimilar styles of creative works such as chairs, vases, carpets, lamps, photographs, brooches and etc. In addition, the national artists and designers of the year conferred on joining their paintings, sculptures and architectural works which connoted with the meaning of considerateness in the exhibition
