“Sor. Kor. Sor. - Song Kon Sook Exhibition”

The Community Based Project Exhibition By Instructors and Students of Bangkok University

May 29 – July 5, 2014

Opening Reception on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 14.00 – 16.00 hrs.

At Bangkok University Gallery, Rangsit Campus (2nd floor, Surat Osathanugrah Library)

“Sor. Kor. Sor. - Song Kon Sook Exhibition” is a creative art exhibition by Bangkok University Gallery with the collaboration from Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Faculty of Communication Arts, and Faculty of Architecture, Bangkok University. It features the outcome of the gallery's ongoing project “Community Project”, which has established four years ago.

This project aims to exhibit fine and applied artworks created from both mentors and students, in the role of artists and designers. In particular, it intends to present to the community - the thought process and the results from applying academic theories, thereby adapting materials learnt from class to the real life and the society effectively. The works of artists and designers in this exhibition are from various departments, like Fashion and Textile Design, Communication Arts, Product Design, and Visual Arts, and are developed through learning activities with Northern Saladaeng Community, Amphur Sam-kok, Pathumthani.

In addition, mentors and students involved in this project cultivated products, cultures and local wisdoms learned from Northern Saladaeng Community, to developed and applied in creative manners to the increase of the value of the community's original products.Therefore, suggesting business opportunities that will lead to the improvement of job prospects, economy and art of the community. In the hope to transmit this information to the community beyond that of Bangkok University, extending to other educational institutes in order to build motivation to other individuals that are interested in the adaptation of art for communal purposes
