เหตุใคจึงต้องลอยดอกบัวรอบฐานอาคาร ???

การลอยดอกบัวนั้นเหมือนเป็นการลอยความทุกข์ และสิ่งไม่ดีให้ออกไป ซึ่งก็จะคล้ายกับการลอยดอกไม้ในหม้อน้ำตามความเชื่อของชาวศรีลังกา ที่เรียกว่าการทำ "ปูรณมฏะ" ซึ่งเชื่อว่าถ้าคนในบ้านทะเลาะกัน ภรรยาก็จะนำดอกไม้หลากหลายชนิดมาลอยไว้ในหม้อน้ำ เพราะว่าน้ำนั้นแสดงถึงความเยือกเย็น และดอกไม้เป็นการเติมเต็มให้มีความสุขสมบูรณ์ จะทำให้ครอบครัวมีความสุข การทำงาน หรือการเดินทางก็จะราบรื่น


Why do you have to float the lotus around the basement of the building ???

The lotus floating represents the floating of suffering and bad things which is similar to Sri Lanka's belief called "Pumaghata" [vase of plenty] where they floated flowers in water pot. They believed that when people in the house had a quarrel , the wife should bring many kinds of flowers to float in pot in order to bring peacefulness to the house. The water represents peacefullness and flowers represent happiness. Both of them (water and flower) will bring happiness , good work and safe and sound journey.
