Still from Dec08-Sierra Nevada Area Trip. ;-)

This picture is pretty straight forward. Just a waterfalls and snow indeed ;-) However It's required some thought behind it. How? well. I went to this area and check location and this is the frame I wanted to take.

Now come to the part when I had to take a photo. my spot lightmeter read in every spots and turn out it's way over EXP on icy branches and way under EXP on the cliff. To be hornest I stood their for a long while and didn't know what to do. I almost wrapped up my camera and moved to another spot but....Um..I just like the frame here.

Why is it had to be this composition? well...as you see that It's only icy branches and waterfall. I didn't want the image to look pack and clutter. So as you can see the cliff was angle opan facing to the righ hand side of me so I kept it in the left hand side of the frame and facing right. now that I got good angle. The right area was too much space so I moved my tri-pod and the whole camera to the right untill I found the tall tree. now it's complete!!! ;-). the right branch made the image look like I'm under and surrounding with the Icy plants. For me the composition is the first. Now I was happy untill my meter show me that it's way over EXP on icy branches and way under EXP on the cliff.

I stood there for a while almost gave up. then I thought "what's the heck. just set the exposure value to the middle and do some thing." then the cloud moved over my head and filtered the sun. I check the meter again..."huh! now it's good" I went to the camera wait for another cloud to cover the sun for another 15-20 minutes....and here is the result of it ;-)

I'm happy with it. But I wish to have some more fog below, though. It would make this image a lot better. ;-)

Thanks for stop by and read, comments and Favs...everything is welcome here ;-)
