Every country have a national sport, Thailand is no different. The sport for Thailand which clamed this title is the sport of “Muay Thai”. Muay Thai is now the sport which knows all around the globe, for it beauty of movements and the lethalness of the punches, and kicks. One can truly say Muay thai boxers can dance like a butterfly and will sting like a bee. Muay Thai boxers are no different from other athletes; they need a place to show off their dexterity. For all Muay Thai boxers in Thailand the ultimate area to show of their talents is Rajadamnern Stadiam. Rajadamnern Stadium or in Thai is call Sanam Muay Rajadamnern, was build in 1941, then the Prime Minster of Thailand, Field Maeshal Plaek Pibulsongkram (Por Pibunlsongkram), on the Rajadamnern Ave. in the city of Bangkok. The Italian by the name of All’Estero-Oriente won the contract for construction right of the stadium. The original design of the stadium is called for open air stadium, much like Roman coliseum for gladiators to show off their fighting skills. The first foundation stone was laid on March 1, 1941. The unfortunate out break of World War II effect the supply line and the economy of Thailand, the project was halted until August 1945. When the construction finally resume, the project was completed with an astonishing rate of 4 months. On the December 23, 1945 the ticket boots are open for the spectators, and the fighters were ready for the premier grand opening fight night. Roof was finally added on to the existing structure in 1951, so matched can be held during the raining season. For the first seven year the state own and operated the stadium, however the marginal profit was thin. In May 24, 1953 the Mr. Chalerm Cheosakul, the manager of the stadium at the time, ask the Crown Property Bureau to reform the stadium, and turn it into Rajadamnern Co Ltd. Now Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday night legendary Rajadamnern Stadium is welcoming young fighters whom came for opportunity to reach the star. However just like many other things in life, only few fighters will walk out from the legendary stadium as victors, clamed all the glory and riches this stadium can offer, just as the long ago gladiator. In 2009 the stadium has been opening and operating for 64 years, and still running. 13,419 matches were held, and many more will sure to be followed.
