Gallery VER pleased to present Safe Place In The Future, a contemporary art exhibition that raises critical approaches to glocally overwhelming crisis. By artistic trajectories that investigate the notion of “safety” in various level ranges from individual to the communual as an urgent issue. The exhibition tries to increase awareness, arouse audiences to imagine the idea and shape of the “safe place.” The exhibition showcases works from Nipan Oranniwesa, Kata Sangkhae, Chakkrit Chimnok, Aphiwat Sangpattaseema, Supitcha Tovivich, and Supapong Laodheerasiri. Features 6 Thai leading contemporary artists applying various media from film, sculpture, site specific works with architectural construction to interactive/multiples. Ranges from Nipan and Katha’s sculpture and site specific works reflecting their pursuits to micro utopia and diffused insecure. Supitcha’s house made of discard objects collected during her field research resembles temporary house of the refugees. Chakkrit dyes the fabric with polluted water from his locals and transform it to the ready to wear robe. Apiwat’s ‘Urban Paradise’ applies a half decades produced documentary film (80 min.) as critical approach to capture the outgrown development of Inner Rattanakosin Island in multi facets. With Supapong’s multiple and sculptural painting which elicit the hidden danger in public space.
