The Future, into the distant light

The distant “Maitreya”, it is not a word that describes a person or a specific meaning. It is like a light which exists inside each one of us. The Maitreya can arise in any age using any style or form of expression. It can achieve anything while being nothing. The story of “The Future, into the distant light” begins here.

This piece is the beginning of a long journey. It is a story that spans a life time.

In creating this work I have used a blend of photography and ink painting. However, I do not believe in simply labeling the work as either of these categories. What I have accomplished is the creation of a new language of expression, a new context.

When the exhibition opened the thing I was most concerned with was the harmony of the exhibit with it’s environment. I used incense, played music for ambience and positioned the work while coordinating it with the shape and colors of the location.

The piece permeates emotion and sensuality into each and every particle in its space. It is only when an observer breathes in and literally “experiences” the piece that it can truly be called complete.
