ขัวศิลปะสนทนาและปฎิบัติการทางศิลปะ

“Wrapped in Culture. :ห่อวัฒนธรรม”

โครงการห่อวัฒนธรรมเป็นการทำงานร่วมกันของศิลปินออสเตเรีย

Rushdi Anwar และ Melanie Jayne Taylor ศิลปินในพำนัก Ne’-na

Contemporary Art Space เชียงใหม่

ซึ่งทั้งคู่สนใจที่จะทำงานที่ร่วมกับผู้คนทั้งในท้องที่ภาคเหนือ

โดยชวนผู้คนมาร่วมกันแบ่งปันเรื่องราวของวัฒนธรรมล้านนาผ่านสิ่งของ

และห่อหุ้มด้วยกระดาษสา ผลงาน กว่า 80 ชิ้น พร้อมภาพถ่าย

บทกวีจะนำมาจัดแสดงนิทรรศการ ณ Baan Monfai: Lanna Living

Museum/Cultural Centre (บ้านม่อนฝ้าย เชียงใหม่)

นับเป็นโอกาสดีที่ชาวเชียงราย

ศิลปินและนักศึกษาจะได้ร่วมพูดคุยเสวนากับศิลปินทั้งสองท่าน

ถึงประสบการณ์ทำงานที่ผ่านมา

ตลอดจนร่วมปฎิบัติการทางศิลปะในโครงการห่อวัฒนธรรม wrapped in

culture โดยผู้ที่สนใจจะเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมการปฎิบัติ (workshop)

ร่วมนำสิ่งของที่คิดว่ามีความเกี่ยวเนื่องหรือมีความเป็นล้านนา

องราวและห่อด้วยกระดาษสา 

กิจกรรมจัดในวันศุกร์ที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ 2558 เวลา 13.00-18.00 น.

Wrapped in Culture is an innovative community art project that

engages individuals across varied communities in Northern

Thailand – in partnership with the Baan Monfai: Lanna Living

Museum/Cultural Centre – to examine what the rich and unique

Lanna Culture means to them.

In a collaboration between Australian artists Rushdi Anwar and

Melanie Jayne Taylor, individuals from community groups

including arts organisations, schools, universities, remote rural

villages, will be asked to choose an object that represents a

personal connection to the Lanna Culture of Northern Thailand.

Wrapped in Culture will explore the transformative effect that

traditional Thai Paper (Kada Saa) will have when wrapped around

these objects.

The outcome will involve over 80 unique interpretations of the

Lanna Culture in the form of the wrapped objects exhibited as an

installation at Baan Monfai in February 2015. An accompanying

video work will be screened – a poetic documentary of the project

– at Baan Monfai and in Melbourne. Photography and mixed

media work created during the residency by the artists will also be

exhibited.
