Daniel Brown, On Growth and Form ------------------------------------

An exhibition showing the latest developments in digital and interactive design has opened at the V&A in south Kensington. ------------------------------------------------
Interactivity is a recurring theme, as in Golan Levin's Opto-Isolator where a human-sized mechanical eye follows the gaze of the viewer, blinking one second after its visitor blinks. ------------------------------------
Decode: Digital Design Sensations features 35 works by established practitioners alongside emerging designers and a range of new commissions. ------------------------------------------
Digital studio Sennep's exhibit mimics the action of a hairdryer to blow the seeds off a dandelion. --------------------------------------
The exhibition also includes designers working with the digital traces left behind by everyday communications, ranging from Aaron Koblin's real-time visualisations of flight patterns of planes across the US... ------------------------------------
... to James Frost's pioneering music video for Radiohead's House of Cards, which was created using 3D laser scan technology. ---------------------------------------
Decode: Digital Design Sensations opened on 8 December and continues to 11 April 2010. Go to www.vam.ac.uk/microsites/decode for additional details. -------------------------------- *pictures: By - BBC London --------------------------------
