Huairou หมู่บ้านเล็กๆ ที่ไม่ไกลกับตัวเมืองปักกิ่งมากนัก (ขับรถราวสองชั่วโมง) ได้มีห้องสมุดชื่อ Liyuan Library ออกแบบโดย Li Xiaodong Atelier อยู่ท่ามกลางป่าเขา ซึ่งเรียกได้ว่าเป็นศูนย์กลางที่เว้นพื้นที่ให้สำหรับการพักผ่อนโดยการอ่านหนังสืออย่างแท้จริง การออกแบบช่างเรียบง่าย การสร้างแพลตฟอร์ม และการใช้กระจก ทำให้พื้นที่ภายในโล่ง และมีแสงสว่างจากภายนอกเข้ามาอย่างทั่วถึง แต่ด้วยการใช้วัสดุที่มีอยู่ทั่วไปในบริเวณนี้ "ไม้ฟืน" (เชื้อเพลิงหลักที่ให้ความอบอุ่นและใช้ทำอาหาร) ได้นำถูกนำมาปกปิดหน้าตาของสถาปัตยกรรมนี้ที่เกือบทั้งหมดเป็นกระจก ทำให้ดูเหมือนห้องสมุดนี้ถูกซ่อนให้กลมกลืนกับสภาพแวดล้อมโดยรอบไปเลย
