Sompop Puengpreeda, the famous cross-over trumpet player and pianist who play classical, pop and jazz music style. He was born in April 1966. In age of 9, he started studying music at Yamaha Music School by playing piano. When he was studying at Suan Kularb College, he joined in the college’s military band as a French Horn Player. He began learning to play trumpet with Prof. Wisit Jitrangsan, Yuth Punsa-ard, Manu Ho-Thai and Prof. Henry Nowak.

For a few years in Chulalongkorn University, he was elected to join in the 5th Asian Music Youth Workshop and being the band master of CU BAND. And after graduated in music department, faculty of education, he worked with many well-known bands such as MAI-TAI Orchestra, Thai Youth Orchestra, Charoenkrung Brass Ensemble, Chalermraj Big Band, Kasikorn Band, The Yamaha Sound Band, Siam Kolkarn Big Band, Salaya Philharmonic Orchestra, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra. But not only playing piano and trumpet in different style (Classic, Pop and Jazz), he also do arranging the music for the marching band, Big Band and Orchestra. He’s also a presenter of Jupiter Trumpet, a well-known brand name of every trumpet players such as the world-class brass quintet, The Boston Brass. He is also the conductor of Milal Missionary Choir that perfomed at Carnegie Hall, USA in 2003.

Corrently, he is studying in Master Degree for Music Performance with Prof. Dr. Joseph Bowman, Chairman of Brass Department at College of Music, Mahidol University. Sompop is a trumpet player in Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) and being the trumpet instructor at College of Music, Mahidol University.
