The Toot Yung Art Center is pleased to offer a a master class managed by Jean-Pierre Tanguy, international artist, Professor emeritus of the Atelier de gravure of the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, France and Curator of the international Biennial event of engraving of Sarcelles, France.

Etching Matser Class by Jean Pierre Tanguy

Day 1 - 11.00 am - 13.00
• Presentation of the exhibition :
From Sarcelles to Bangkok - French print makers from the biennial (on view at the Toot Yung Gallery)
• Presentation of the various etching techniques

13.00 - 15.00 : Lunch break

15.00 - 18.00
• Introductory course into the direct techniques of engraving:
presentation of the various material, pointe sèche, burin, acids, inks etc. polishing of the plates.

Day 2 - 11.00 am - 13.00
• Preparation of the first plate in direct technique (pointe sèche, burin)

13.00 - 15.00 : Lunch break

15.00 - 18.00
• Printing of the first plate

Day 3 - 11.00 am - 13.00
• Preparation of the second plate in Indirect techniques (use of the acid) strong water, aquatint…

13.00 - 15.00 : Lunch break

15.00 - 18.00
• Printing of the second plate
• Experimental techniques; carborendum, washing, etching in color.

This training course is for the attention of the beginners and the experimented artists

Included materials: All the materials are included in the price of the workshop. (2 copper plates, inks, paper, acids etc.)
