การประชุมวิชาการนานาชาติ The 1st Rangsit University International Design Symposium

หลักการและเหตุผล

มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ตระหนักและเห็นความสำคัญของภารกิจด้านการวิจัย การสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน และ การออกแบบ การส่งเสริมสนับสนุนงานวิชาการในด้านศิลปะและการออกแบบ ตลอดจนการเผยแพร่ผลงานสร้างสรรค์ การออกแบบบนเวทีวิชาการถือเป็นหัวใจสำคัญของการจัดการศึกษา เพราะเป็นแหล่งข้อมูลสร้าง องค์ความรู้ใหม่ที่เป็นประโยชน์ทั้งในด้านวิชาการออกแบบและการพัฒนาประเทศ

การจัดเวทีเพื่อให้บุคลากรได้มีโอกาสนำเสนอผลงานการสร้างสรรค์ และงานออกแบบ เผยแพร่ผลงาน ที่หลากหลาย นับว่าเป็นวิธีหนึ่งที่ทำให้เกิดบรรยากาศทางวิชาการ และเป็นการส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนให้บุคลากรตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานและการออกแบบมากยิ่งขึ้น อีกทั้งยังช่วยในการสร้างความร่วมมือในการทำวิจัย การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานออกแบบทั้งระหว่างบุคลากรภายในมหาวิทยาลัย ร่วมกับหน่วยงานภายนอกมหาวิทยาลัย ก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ด้านศิลปะและการออกแบบทั้งในระดับประเทศและระดับนานาชาติอีกด้วย

คณะศิลปะและการออกแบบ คณะดิจิทัลอาร์ต มหาวิทยาลัยรังสิต ร่วมกับ 7th International Conference for Design for Sustainability of Japan จึงจัดการประชุมวิชาการนานาชาติเพื่อเป็นเวทีในการนำเสนอผลงานสร้างสรรค์ และงานออกแบบให้กับคณาจารย์ นักวิจัย และนักศึกษาระดับบัณฑิตศึกษา เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นระหว่างนักออกแบบ ศิลปิน และนักวิชาการ รวมทั้งเป็นการเปิดโอกาสรับฟังข้อเสนอแนะความคิดเห็น ทั้ง จากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ คณาจารย์ อันจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาผลงานสร้างสรรค์ และงานออกแบบ ในระดับนานาชาติ ให้มีคุณภาพมากขึ้น

วัตถุประสงค์

1.เพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพผลงานสร้างสรรค์ ผลงานออกแบบ และผลงานวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ

2.เพื่อเผยแพร่ความรู้ ความก้าวหน้าของงานสร้างสรรค์ งานออกแบบ และงานวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ

3.เพื่อกระตุ้นและสร้างบรรยากาศการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และประสบการณ์ด้านการสร้างสรรค์และ การออกแบบระดับนานาชาติ

กลุ่มเป้าหมาย
นักออกแบบ ศิลปิน นักวิชาการ คณาจารย์ นิสิตและนักศึกษา จำนวน 200 คน

ผลที่คาดว่าจะได้รับ

1.ผลงานสร้างสรรค์และผลงานออกแบบได้รับการรับรองมาตรฐานวิชาการในระดับนานาชาติ

2.สามารถเผยแพร่ความรู้และความก้าวหน้าของงานสร้างสรรค์ และงานออกแบบในระดับนานาชาติ

3.เกิดการการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ และประสบการณ์ด้านการสร้างสรรค์และการออกแบบในระดับนานาชาติ

“Work in Progress”

in Collaboration with 7th International Conference for Design for Sustainability of Japan

The Faculty of Art and Design and the Faculty of Digital Arts at Rangsit University, Thailand in collaboration with the Executive Committee of International Conference of Design for Sustainability of Japan would like invite researchers, designers, artists, thinkers, inventors, and makers from different disciplines to join us in our 1st International Design Conference entitled “ Work in Progress.”

As designers we craft, make, and invent physical objects, spaces, and visual images to cultivate a quality of life. Design is not an isolated object of beauty, but an integral part of everyday life. We have seen that design can be a powerful force that changes the way of life, behavior, culture, education, way of communication, and our perception of the world. The motivations behind what we design are very critical. Our questions, assumptions, experiments, and solutions have proven that design
can improve lives and find powerful solutions for man and his environment. Our efforts have been successful, but there is still
much more.

We are re-learning, re-questioning, re-thinking, and will continue to re-invent our world with different design approaches that bring together technology, sustainability, crafts, politics, businesses, and much more. We all have questions that we are pursuing and ideas that we are experimenting with to create change. We believe that a designer’s work in progress should fight for good design. This International Conference will be a venue for designers, artists, thinkers, and inventors from different fields to share their work in progress.

The concept of a sustainability has been embedded in the advanced economies such as Europe and North America. For this reason, the framework for the sustainability of contemporary civilization has shaped the logic of the “have-countries,” taking precedence over the expectations of the “have-not countries.” However, no matter how much a country expands its economic activities globally, its retains its culture and lifestyle rooted in its own region and history and does not lose the diversity of its values. In particular, Asian countries have achieved rapid economic development while still holding onto cultural uniqueness and diversity. As such, we have our own dynamism that can not be subsumed by western definitions of sustainability.
If we can build a sustainable society “Asia style” that would maintain a balance with the natural environment while still retaining this vibrant energy, couldn’t this become a global model for the future approach to civilization? How could we do to achieve this vision together? What kind of role does design play in this project? We would like to think together with the people of Asia.
