หอศิลป์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน ขอเชิญฟังศิลปินบรรยายในหัวข้อ “My Sunshine Project” โดย นิโกลา อูซูนอฟสกี้ ในวันเสาร์ที่ 12 มกราคม 2556 เวลา 14.00-16.00น. ณ ห้องสมุดวิลเลียม วอร์เรน

การบรรยายพิเศษจากศิลปินชาวยุโรปจากประเทศมาซิโดเนีย จะกล่าวถึงโครงการ ‘My Sunshine Project’ ที่ศิลปินเคยทำขึ้น (โครงงานศิลปะชิ้นนี้ได้ถูกนำเสนอในเทศกาลศิลปะนานาชาติเวนิสเบียนนาเล่เมื่อปีพ.ศ.2552) โดยการสร้างพระอาทิตย์จำลองที่ทางตอนเหนือของเมืองแลปแลนด์ (Lapland) ซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ทางขั้วโลกเหนือ และปกคลุมไปด้วยความมืดและอากาศอันหนาวเย็น หลังจากการไปเยือนเมืองแลปแลนด์ และสัมผัสแสงจากพระอาทิตย์ที่สาดมาเพียงช่วงสั้นๆ เป็นจุดเริ่มต้นและเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้นิโกลาคิดที่จะสร้างโครงการ ‘My Sunshine Project’ ด้วยการใช้เทคนิคทางวิทยาศาสตร์เข้าช่วย โครงการครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงแต่จะประสบความสำเร็จในฐานะงานศิลปะแต่ยังท้าทายต่อการก้าวข้ามปัญหาและการพยายามหาทางออกจากกรอบกำหนดทางธรรมชาติ

The Jim Thompson Art Center cordially invites you to attend the lecture “My Sunshine Project” by Nikola Uzunovski on Saturday 12th January at 2:00-4:00pm. at William Warren library.

This is special lecture by Macedonian artist, Nikola Uzunovski who will talk about his ideas for the ‘My Sunshine Project’. (This project was exhibited in International Art Exhibition ‘Venice Biennale’ 2009) The artist has simulated the sun in a northern Lapland city, which is located in a freezing geography and dark atmosphere. People there only experience sunshine for a relatively short time. For this reason the artist was inspired to create a project to simulate the sun by using scientific technology. His work is not only successful as an art project, but also illustrates how endeavoring to create this work helps the artist surpass limits and pursue a way to re-appropriate or regenerate new forms of nature.
