สัมมนา “การนำเสนอผลงานเทคโนโลยีสิ่งทอและงานศิลปะที่สวมใส่ได้” โดยศิลปินสามท่านที่มีผลงานร่วมแสดงในนิทรรศการศิลปะสิ่งทอ “ เนมโมนิกอส ศิลปะ ความทรงจำในสิ่งทอร่วมสมัย“ ศิลปินสามท่านจะนำเสนอผลงานหัวข้อต่างๆ ที่พวกเขาได้ทำวิจัยและทำงานศิลปะมาเป็นเวลานาน อาทิเช่น คินโยะ เจียง (ฮ่องกง) นำเสนอประเด็นงานศิลปะแนวแฟชั่น และ การประยุกต์กับพื้นผิวของวัสดุ (Fashion art and surface modification) กัวเซียง หยวน (ฮ่องกง) นำเสนอหัวข้อ เกี่ยวกับการประยุกต์ใช้การทำเลเซอร์ในการออกแบบพื้นผิววัสดุ ( Application of laser engraving for surface design) และ มาสชา มิโอนิ (สวิสเซอร์แลนด์) นำเสนอหัวข้อ งานจิตรกรรมบนผ้าใบปะทะกับการทำงานศิลปะที่สวมใส่ได้ ( Painting on stretched canvas versus Wearable Art)

กิจกรรมครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมการศึกษา ของนิทรรศการสิ่งทอที่แสดงอยู่ ณ หอศิลป์ บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน คัดสรรผลงานโดย ภัณฑารักษ์รับเชิญชาวญี่ปุ่น โยชิโกะ อิวาโมโต้ วาดะ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านสิ่งทอและ ผู้เขียนหนังสือเกี่ยวกับ “ชิโบริ” ที่กลายเป็นตำนานและตำราสำหรับผู้สนใจด้านสิ่งทอทั่วโลก โยชิโกะ อิวาโมโต้ วาดะ ได้คัดเลือกศิลปินจากประเทศต่างๆ ในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และทั่วโลก จำนวน 29 คน มาร่วมแสดง ผลงานที่ศิลปินแต่ละท่านจะนำมาแสดงล้วนแล้วแต่สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงวัฒนธรรมและสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ส่งอิทธิพลต่อพวกเขา ทั้งยังเกี่ยวเนื่องเชื่อมโยงไปถึงวัสดุที่พวกเขาเลือกใช้ และกระบวนการผลิตผลงานของศิลปินแต่ละคนอีกด้วย

เกี่ยวกับวิทยากร

คินโยะ เจียง เป็นอาจารย์ด้านสิ่งทอประจำสถาบันสิ่งทอและเครื่องแต่งกายแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยฮ่องกง โพลีเทคนิค โดยเป็นผู้อุทิศตนให้กับการค้นคว้านวัตกรรมแฟชั่นและงานออกแบบสิ่งทอ งานของเจียงส่วนใหญ่เป็นงานในเชิงวัสดุศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีการผลิตสิ่งทอ ซึ่งเน้นไปที่เทคโนโลยีกระบวนการปรับสภาพสิ่งทอโดยวิธีกายภาพและเคมี โดยเขาถือเป็นผู้นำในการค้นคว้าและวิจัยด้านการประยุกต์ใช้สิ่งทอและการนำไปใช้ในงานออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกาย ซึ่งงานค้นคว้าวิจัยของเขาได้เปิดทางให้กับการพัฒนากลวิธีการประยุกต์ใช้สิ่งทอและการเพิ่มคุณค่าให้กับเครื่องแต่งกายในเชิงสุนทรียศาสตร์ งานออกแบบและงานศิลปะของเจียง ได้ไปแสดงใน

นิทรรศการศิลปะต่างๆ ทั่วโลก เช่น จีน ฝรั่งเศส สหราชอาณาจักร และ สหรัฐอเมริกา

กัวเซียง หยวน ทำงานเป็นนักวิจัยผู้ช่วยสถาบันสิ่งทอและเครื่องแต่งกายแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยฮ่องกง โพลีเทคนิค ขอบเขตงานวิจัยของเขารวมถึงงานออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกายและนวัตกรรมในกระบวนการออกแบยบ เขายังเป็นสมาชิกชองคณะกรรมการงานหัตถกรรมโลกในเขตภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิก โดยมีผลงานได้รับคัดเลือกให้ไปจัดแสดงยังจีน สหราชอาณาจักร สหรัฐอเมริกา ญี่ปุ่น และไทย เขาเคยได้รับรางวัลเหรียญทองจากงานประกวดนานาชาติระดับนักศึกษา New Beat: International Student Concours รางวัลจุนอิชิ อาราอิ จากงานสัมมนาชิโบรินานาชาติครั้งที่ 8 รางวัลเหรียญเงินจากเทศกาลจากโลซานน์ถึงปักกิ่ง เบียน่าเล่ศิลปะสิ่งทอครั้งที่ 6 และรางวัลเหรียญทองจากการประกวดออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกายขนสัตว์นานาชาติระดับเยาวชนครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งจัดโดยสมาพันธ์ผู้ค้าขนสัตว์ระดับนานาชาติ

มาสชา มิโอนิ เป็นจิตรกร ทำงานแนวฟิกเกอร์ราตีฟ เธอค่อยๆเปลี่ยนไปวาดภาพแบบนามธรรมแนวคัลเลอร์ ฟีลด์ ด้วยเทคนิคสีน้ำมันบนผ้าใบ ซึ่งต่อมาเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เธอได้วาดบนผ้าไหม และทำงานศิลปะที่สามารถสวมใส่ได้ มาสชา เป็นผู้ริเริ่มและผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งทีมศิลปะที่สวมใส่ได้ของประเทศสวิสเซอร์แลนด์ และได้ตีพิมพ์หนังสือสี่เล่มเกี่ยวกับผลงานของเธอ เธอได้มีส่วนร่วมในงานนิทรรศการศิลปะนานาชาติอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ที่แกลเลอรี่และพิพิภัณฑ์ทั่วทุกมุมโลก เช่น สวิสเซอน์แลนด์ จอร์เจีย ญี่ปุ่น ออสเตรเลีย ฝรั่เศส จีน และสหรัฐอเมริกา

The mini textile symposium, A Brief presentations on textile technology and wearable art features the three exhibiting artists of the current exhibition, mnēmonikos: Art of Memory in Contemporary Textiles, an exhibition exploring contemporary textiles at the molecular level, at the Jim Thompson Art Center. Three artsits will give the brief presentation on their on-going research of contemporary textiles in relationship to the new technology, memory and social context. “Dr.Kinor Jiang (Hong Kong) will talk about fashion art and surface modification), Dr.Garson Yuan (Hong Kong) will present the paper about application of laser engraving for surface design, and Mascha Mioni will talk about painting on stretched canvas versus Wearable Art.

Mnēmonikos: Art of Memory in Contemporary Textiles is on view from now the end of February 2014. Curated by the renowned Japanese textiles expert, Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada, this show feature 29 artists from Southeast Asia and beyond, whose expressive artworks relate to their memory, culture and environment and engage in dialog with materials and processes. Wada attempts to explore the contemporary textiles at the molecular level.

About the speakers:

Kinor Jiang : He is Associate Professor at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing in Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is devoted to innovative fashion and textile designs. His design works involve material science and advanced technology. He is active in research, which is focused on technologies of physical and chemical treatments of textiles. His own and collaborative art textile and art-to-wear works have been shown in many parts of China, France, UK, and USA.

GuoXiang YUAN : He is a Research Associate at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in the areas of fashion design and innovative technology. He won the Golden Award in New Beat: International Student Concours; the Junichi Arai Award in the 8th International Shibori Symposium; the Silver Award in From Lausanne to Beijing 6th International Fiber Art Biennale; and the Golden Award in the 2nd China International Youth Fur Fashion Design Competition.

Mascha Mioni : She has been a painter, first in figurative painting and in the last few decades in abstract color field oil painting which inspired her to paint on silk and create art-to-wear pieces. She co-founded the Swiss Art-to-Wear Team and has published four books on her art-to-wear works. She has exhibited widely in Switzerland, Georgia, Japan, Australia, France, China, and USA.
