ปรัชญาจะพูดถึงกระบวนการทำงานและผลงานชิ้นล่าสุดที่จัดแสดงที่นิทรรศการศิลปะ dOCUMENTA (13) ซึ่งมุ่งความสนใจไปที่ระบบนิเวศน์และกลุ่มอาการไข้ ณ ใจกลางประเทศ แซมเบีย ผลงานส่วนใหญ่ของปรัชญาจะมีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องราวทางเศรษฐกิจ และวัฒนธรรมข้ามชาติ

ประวัติศิลปิน

ปรัชญา พิณทอง เกิดเมื่อปีพ.ศ.2517 จังหวัด อุบลราชธานี ปัจจุบันอาศัยอยู่ กรุงเทพมหานคร สำเร็จการศึกษา จากคณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม และภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร และปริญญาโทสาขาทัศนศิลป์จาก Städelschule Frankfurt ประเทศเยอรมันนี ปรัชญาเคยแสดง ผลงานทั้งเดี่ยวและกลุ่มและเป็นที่รู้จักในระดับนานาชาติ เคยแสดงผลงานที่ Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bergamo (2011), the Centre d’Art Contemporain, Brétigny (2010) รวมถึง the Singapore Biennale (2006) และ the New Museum Triennial (2012).

Artist talk: From Pak Thong Chai to Zambia

Part of the exhibition Art on Farm: a diary from the Isan plateau

Pratchaya will talk about his artistic practices and present his latest work, which showings at dOCUMENTA (13). The work centred around ecological systems and symptoms in the heart of Zambia. Most of his works deal with the economy and transnationalism.


About the artist:

Pratchaya Phinthong born in 1974 in Ubon Ratchathani, lives in Bangkok. He graduated from the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University and received his M.A. in Fine Arts from Städelschule Frankfurt, Germany. His work has been shown internationally. He has had solo exhibitions at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Bergamo (2011), and the Centre d’Art Contemporain, Brétigny (2010). Pratchaya has participated in the Singapore Biennale (2006) and the New Museum Triennial (2012).
