ขุนช้างขุนแผนในสื่อสมัยใหม่: การผลิตซ้ำและการตีความใหม่

 หอศิลป์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน ขอเชิญฟังบรรยายในหัวข้อ “ขุนช้างขุนแผนในสื่อสมัยใหม่: การผลิตซ้ำและการตีความใหม่” โดย อาจารย์ ณรงค์ศักดิ์ สอนใจ อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิชาภาษาไทย คณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และนิสิตปริญญาเอก สาขาวิชาวรรณคดีและวรรณคดีเปรียบเทียบ คณะอักษรศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย การบรรยายจะมีขึ้นในวันเสาร์ที่ 30 กรกฎาคม 2554 ณ หอศิลป์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน เวลา 14.00-15.30น. การบรรยายในครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของนิทรรศการ “มุมมองใหม่ขุนช้างขุนแผน” (นิทรรศการจัดแสดงถึงวันที่ 30 กันยายน 2554)

 บทเสภาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนเป็นวรรณคดีไทยเรื่องสำคัญที่สืบทอดมาตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา แม้ในยุคปัจจุบันเนื้อเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนก็ยังเป็นที่นิยม และนำมาผลิตซ้ำในรูปแบบต่างๆ มากมาย ทั้งที่เป็นนวนิยาย ละคร ภาพยนตร์ และการ์ตูนสำหรับเด็ก ซึ่งหากศึกษาเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนที่ผลิตซ้ำในสื่อต่าง ๆ นี้  นอกจากเราจะเห็นความนิยมของเรื่องขุนช้างขุนแผนในยุคปัจจุบันแล้วยังทำให้เห็นถึงมุมมองและการตีความใหม่ของคนร่วมสมัย ที่มีต่อวรรณคดีไทยเรื่องสำคัญนี้อีกด้วย

Khun Chang Khun Phaen in Modern Media: Re-production and Re-interpretation

The Jim Thompson Art Center cordially invites you to attend the special program “Khun Chang Khun Phaen in Modern Media: Re-production and Re-interpretation” by Narongsak Sonjai, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University. The program will be held on Saturday 30th, July 2011 at 2.00-3.30 hrs. At The Jim Thompson Art Center. This program is part of “Re-reading Khun Chang Khun Phaen”  (Exhibition will be held till 30 September 2011)

  Sepha recitations of Khun Chang Khun Phaen have played an important role in Thai literature since the Ayutthaya period. Today Khun Chang Khun Phaen still remains popular and the story has been reproduced in many forms, including novels, performances, movies and cartoons for children. In addition to demonstrating its popularity, by studying the ways that Khun Chang Khun Phaen has been reproduced in the media, it is possible to gain a perspective and understanding of the attitude of contemporary people towards this Thai literature.
