แสงไฟสีสันเรืองรองออกมาจากห้องที่ถูกฉาบเคลือบจนไม่สามารถมองเห็นที่มาของแสงสีเหล่านี้ได้ เชื้อเชิญให้ผู้ชมเข้าไปพบกับเนื้อหาของตัวงานที่ติดตั้งอยู่ภายใน

5 ศิลปินสำรวจและรำลึกถึงการสูญเสียจากเหตุการรุนแรงทางการเมืองที่เกิดขึ้นเมื่อเดือนพฤษภาคมของปีนี้ ชิ้นงานประกอบด้วยเค้าโครงความคิดที่ค้นหาความหมายของความเป็นชนชาติ โฆษณาชวนเชื่อที่สร้างขึ้นเพื่อที่จะควบคุมความรู้สึกนึกคิดของประชาชนหมู่มาก และนิยามความสับสนกระอักกระอ่วนที่เกิดขึ้นจากการขัดแย้งแบ่งแยกของคน

งานศิลปะสื่อการจัดวาง ประติมากรรม การฉายภาพ และภาพพิมพ์กราฟิก ถูกบรรจุในห้องต่างๆของชั้น 2 หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพ กำแพงทางความคิดถูกสลายลงเพื่อให้แสงสว่างกับประเด็นที่คนทั่วไปอาจไม่ให้ความสำคัญ มองข้าม หรือหลีกเลี่ยงที่จะเผชิญและพูดถึง

Within These Walls

Fragments of lights and colors reveal themselves through the veiled walls. The audience is invited to enter each one to discover the contexts and narratives within.

Drawing from hypothesized national identities, propaganda theories, and the frayed edges of unsettled socio-political quandaries, five artists engage in rationalizing and memorializing of the damages – both physical and psychological – caused by the violent conflicts of May this year.

In an array of pieces – installations, sculptures, projections and graphic art are displayed within a series of rooms on the 2nd floor of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Walls are deconstructed, illuminating what would otherwise be disregarded, unrecognized, or avoided.
