I'm a freelance multimedia journalist and trainer based in Bangkok Thailand. Before moving to Bangkok I was a staff photographer and trainer at the News & Observer in Raleigh, NC. Born and raised in Asia, I went to the United States for college. Upon graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Biology major and a Photojournalism minor, I worked as a photographer on a multimedia website, chiloestories.org, in Chile with other recent graduates and UNC students. The site won numerous awards including “First Place – Online News Association Best Student Online Journalism – 2003-04” and “First Place, Multimedia, Independent, Best of Photojournalism Competition, 2005.” In 2004 I interned with the Charlotte Observer and moved on to freelance in the North Carolina Triangle area. In the summer of 2005 I received the Poynter Recent Graduate Summer Visual Journalism Fellowship. After completing the fellowship she traveled to Ecuador as a video/audio content producer for a multimedia website funded by the Morehead Foundation. I joined the News & Observer photography staff in August of 2005 and was one of the contributors to the newspaper's photo column, "Acts of Faith," which focuses on striking expressions of various religious faiths in North Carolina. I have conducted coaching and multimedia training for the Poynter Institute, the News & Observer and Special Olympics International, the Bangkok Post, IFRA and UNC-Chapel Hill.
