100 Tonson Gallery is delighted to update you the latest news on Yayoi Kusama 's exhibition at Tate Modern. Her retrospective show includes new works made for the exhibition will be on view from 9 February to 5 June.
Kusama is described by Tate Modern's director Chris Dercon as 'Japan's greatest living artist', meanwhile, Tate Modern show's curator, Frances Morris, described Kusama as "one of the most interesting, arresting and intriguing artists alive today," and should be better-known."
Six decades of her art career, her influences come from East and West. Kusama had been using polka dots since she was a child and had made it into a symbol of love and peace.
Dots Obsession, a unique custom decorated car designed by Yayoi Kusuma, is one of 100 Tonson Gallery collection. The vibrant yellow and black polka dot covered exterior is displayed at the forecourt area of 100 Tonson.
