 od 082-764-1826\r\nThe installation Yawnghwe Office in Exile refers to
  the artist’s own family name as well as to the former throne of the
  Saopha (ruler) of the Yawnghwe principality Shan State, of which his 
 grandfather was the last hereditary ruler.\r\nHow to represent a state
  that is not a state, that exists both as a family-based heroic ideal 
 of resistance and a focal point of military trauma at the hands of an 
 ethnocentric Burmese majority governed by military junta? The “offic
 e in exile” is a proposal of temporality, one that avoids the usuall
 y culturally biased model of the (national) museum.\r\nThe Office in E
 xile at Cartel Artspace is a performance piece which is open for the a
 udience to participate in the ideology of dissent. As Agamben said in 
 an interview, “thought is the courage of hopelessness”.\r\nTo thin
 k in our time is the most dangerous act, the Office In Exile aims to p
 resent a platform in which this activity is encouraged.\r\nOpening on
