SUMMARY:นิทรรศการ \"The London Project\"
DESCRIPTION:The London Project: A State of Mind\nBangkok – Soy Sauce
Factory is proud to present visual artist Steve Pace’s photography\
nexhibition entitled “The London Project: A State of Mind”, in Ban
 gkok from 7 November – 30\nNovember 2014 with an opening reception o
 n Friday 7 November from 7:30pm - Late.\nThe exhibition comprises of p
hotographs captured over a period of 7 months when Pace went\nto Londo
n after working in Thailand’s civil unrest. We get a glimpse of how
traumatic events can\nchange one’s assessment of the world and how m
eaning can be achieved through the process\nof overcoming.\nIn Pace’
s words, “An altered perception of the physical world allowed me to
capture images\nthat create a visual translation of the co-existence o
f my past and present state of mind. The\nambiguity and abstractness i
s the product of working in brutal conflict and severe situations. My\
nphotographs are the journey through my own internal and external worl
ds.”\nCaptivating the viewer with its deep multiplicity, this body o
f work incorporates conceptual\nimages that embody extensive and enigm
atic complications.\nThe photographs capture their ordinary subjects t
hrough the perspective that everything is\ncompletely surreal, represe
nting an exploration of the idea that the trauma itself imparts the\ns
trength to grow.\n“I'm not looking to just simply document what's in
front of me. I'm trying to connect emotionally\nas a visual artist to
the events unfolding in front of me. I feel to see, see to feel. Some
of\nsituations I photograph in can be physically and mentally exhaust
ing. But it’s here in these most\nintense situations where I feel st
rongly connected and believe that I have captured with a kind of\nhone
sty,” explains Pace.\nPace studied art and photography at Ridge Stre
et Art College and Falmouth College, University\nof Arts. His works ha
ve been featured in The Times, New York Times, LA Times, Irish Times,\
nTime Magazine and The Wall Street Journal.\n“The London Project: A
State of Mind” will run through 7 December 2014. Guests are welcome\
nto attend the opening reception on Friday 7 November 2014 from 7:30pm
  – Late. Soy Sauce\nFactory is located Soi 24 Charoenkrung road at t
he beginning of Chinatown near River City and\nSheraton Orchid hotel.
