 rakul\r\nAbout exhibition:It has been a long time for the connection b
 etween French eyes and Thailand subject. First was Father Larnaudie wh
 o in 1845 brought the first photographic camera into Siam to visually 
 document the kingdom during the final years of King Rama III’s reign
 .\r\n“Thailand” as a subject for photographic exploration is a wel
 l worn-out topic. The usual grounds for story-telling are the same sup
 erficial themes, involving Buddhist monks, working girls, Thai boxing 
 and paradise beaches. For this exhibition, each chosen artists have th
 eir own relationship with the Thai culture and its society. Some were 
 long-time and short-term residents of country, some use Thailand as th
 eir base whilst they travel and some have created a family with local 
 Thais.\r\n“The French Connection” therefore aims to present a seri
 es of photographic exhibition of works by French photographers and art
 ists who have processed Thailand on a deeper, more thoughtful and crit
