 oryMultimedia Exhibition by Witaya Junma\r\nThis set of work mimics th
 e mechanics of a movie projector, but uses textiles as opposed to movi
 e films.\r\nThe motion picture is developed using Persistence of Visio
 n technique. The technique uses multiple still images and flashes them
  through our eyes continually in a short period of time, allowing us t
 o see them as moving pictures.\r\nThe artwork uses the same category o
 f Thai textile patterns with symmetric shapes, embroiders them togethe
 r and sews them into a single piece of fabric. The fabric presents an 
 interwoven pattern comprising various sized patterns and spacings betw
 een them. Some parts of the design are newly created, but are based on
  traditional Thai textile patterns.\r\nThe motion picture created usin
 g textile patterns can be seen as a storytelling medium. Even though t
 he textile patterns have been designed and created for centuries, they
  still hold untold stories to be explored today. These stories have li
 ved through time, development of cultures and knowledge in textiles wh
 ich hold them together on a fabric.\r\nWatching the motion picture is 
 much like watching a movie filmed using embroideries and weavings, wit
 h stories told through the patterns and their rhythms. This artwork, t
 herefore, is much like a movie seeking to reveal its stories through r
 evived patterns brought back to life again.\r\nLocation: FabCafe X TCD
