 Gallery is pleased to present the art exhibition Speaking Alone – a 
 multi-media and pioneering art exhibition of Burmese conceptual art.\n
 \n\nAs the title of the exhibition indicates, the art exhibition of wo
 rks by four well known Burmese artists deal with isolation which the c
 ountry and its people have endured for decades. This exhibition brings
  together Aung Myint – the pioneer of Burmese conceptual art, Phyu M
 on – one of Burma’s few female artists, and two of Burma’s most 
 well known conceptual and performance artists Nyein Chan Su and Aye Ko
 . The works featured include photographs, mixed media paintings, video
  installations, three dimensional installations and performances. This
  exhibition gives us a rare glimpse into a proud, but isolated country
 .\n\n\nThe exhibition is curated by the international curator Shireen 
 Naziree.\n\n\nAung Myint is 62 years old and Burma’s pioneer on conc
 eptual art, installations and performance art. He is also a painter, a
 nd a winner of the ASEAN Art Awards. He has participated in numerous e
 xhibitions around the world, and his works are found in museum collect
 ions such as the National Art Gallery of Malaysia and the Fukuoka Asia
 n Art Museum, Japan.\n\n\nPhyu Mon is 48 years old and a rare breed 
  a Burmese female artist focusing on mixed media pieces and performan
 ce art. She is well known for her photo manipulations.\n\n\nAye Ko is 
 45 years old and a prominent performance artist in Burma. He is also w
 ell known for installations and video works and has participated in se
 veral international events. He recently took part in the international
  Thermokline exhibition in Germany.\n\n\nNyein Chan Su is 35 years old
  and belongs to Burma’s generation of young and dynamic artists who 
 look beyond the country’s borders for inspiration while at the same 
 time have their roots firmly planted in Burmese culture. He is well kn
 own for his performance work, and he also produces video and mixed med
