SUMMARY:นิทรรศการ \"Spark of Hope\"
DESCRIPTION:An exhibition at the Goethe-Institut Thailand \r\nOctober
  9th – November 30th, 2018 open daily \r\n(Mon-Fri 8:00-18:00, Sat
8:00-17:00, Sun 8:00-13:00)\r\nYou are cordially invited to the exclus
ive opening event of the exhibition “Spark of Hope”, photographs b
y German photographer Jonas Werner-Hohensee, on Tuesday, October 9th 2
018 at 19:00 (7pm). Take a look and personally learn from the photogra
pher himself about the story and the technique that is hidden behind e
ach photo.\r\nThe opening evening holds another unique specialty prepa
red: The amazing Jazz artist Athalie de Koning, together with her outs
tanding jazz ensemble JAZZIAM, will narrate the story of some highligh
ted exhibition pieces along with specially curated songs. Even a creat
ive and versatile Bangkok doesn’t get such a wonderful opportunity e
very day.\r\nJonas Werner-Hohensee and his wife Anita (graphic designe
 r) first visited Northern Thailand about 10 years ago. After they got
in touch with the German help association “Spark of Hope” in Germa
ny, they quickly decided to set off for Phrao in order to get real imp
ressions on site. Out of this friendship, they developed a deep love f
or Thailand and its people. During their trips to the North, they took
fascinating portraits and lively shots that not only narrated the wor
k and commitment of Spark of Hope and everyday life in the children’
s home, but also documented life in the region.\r\nJonas Werner-Hohens
ee is a German photographer with a photo studio in Mainz near Frankfur
 t. Apart from classical photo shooting for advertisement purpose, he a
nd his wife also support social projects. This is how the portrait ser
ies of the same title „Spark of Hope“ came into being. Taken with
a large-format camera and on analog films, Jonas presents strong and s
ensitive portraits and lively shots of people and adolescents the orga
nization “Spark of Hope” supports. His photographs show more than
just faces, which in many ways, are filled with stories. \r\nThe exhi
bition is open to the public in Bangkok from October 9th until Novembe
r 30th 2018 and can be visited during the usual opening hours of the G
 oethe-Institut Thailand.\r\nGoethe-Institut Thailand / 18-1 Soi Goethe
 , Sathorn 1 / Bangkok 10120, Thailand\n\nFor more information visit ht
