The exhibition is free and open to\nThrough archival photos taken by travelers, missiona ries and ethnologists, this\nexhibition recounts changes that have tak en place among highland minorities in\nnorthern Thailand from the 1950 s until today, highlighting their salient traits and\nfocusing on thei r significance within cultural diversity, long viewed as problematic b y\nthe government but henceforth seen as a heritage to be preserved. O livier Evrard\nand Prasit Leepreecha, the two researchers behind this exhibition, will lead a guided\nOlivier Evrard is an ethnologist with the French development research institution\nInstitut de Recherche pou r le Développement. Since 1994, he has been conducting\nfield researc h in the highlands of Northern Thailand and Laos and as from 2005,\nha s worked in collaboration with Prasit Leepreecha, an ethnologist with the Center\nfor Ethnic Studies and Development at Chiang Mai Universit y.
