  the Art Centre, Silpakorn University, 7 pm.\r\nExhibition is on view 
 between 12 January to 24 February 2018. (Mon to Fri 9 am to 7 pm and S
 at 9 am to 4 pm, closed on Sun and public holidays.)\r\n* ARTIST’s T
 ALK 4.30 pm.\r\n\"Mongkut\" puts one of Thailand’s cherished symboli
 c forms at the axis of his inquiry. Rungjang’s research recalls Fran
 co-Thai relations during the parallel reigns of King Rama IV (1851–6
 8) and Napoleon III (1852–70), a period marked by the expansion of t
 he European colonial enterprise in much of the geographic region known
  today as Southeast Asia. On June 27, 1861 the second replica was offe
 red to Napoleon III by the Siamese ambassador at the Château de Fonta
 inebleau.\r\nIn the video installation and sculpture Mongkut, Rungjang
  uses the present as a context for reopening a little-known history co
 ncerning Siam’s relative sovereignty.\r\nThe exhibition was held at 
 The Jeu de Paume, the Maison d'Art Bernard Anthonioz and The CAPC Muse
 e d'Art Contemporarain de Bordeaux, France in 2015 and Kyoto City Univ
 ersity of Arts Art Gallery @KCUA, Japan, in 2017.\n\nFor more informat
