 gnates a new category of aesthetic object.\nArchitecturally speaking, 
 an empty object is an object that offers a particular type of experien
 ce. It posses neither absolute meaning nor absolute function. Yet its 
 value is not merely relative. It is empty in the way that a promise ca
 n be empty.. It remains a promise, if only in form. What it promises i
 s not the realization of a dream or a fantasy. Instead, it promises to
  remain an island of emptiness in the midst of the contemporary ether,
  which still abhors a vacuum.\n\nQuestion of form tend quickly to turn
  into questions of content. If the history of architecture has anythin
 g to do with the history of space, then the discipline has not come ve
 ry far over the last century\n\nA content is…\nprogram, performance,
  or event,\nSymbol, image, icon,\nfrom another tradition: of affect, e
 xperience, or just feeling.\n\nBut why not allow the form of plenum it
 self to guide our thoughts for a moment,\nwithout presuming that it co
