SUMMARY:นิทรรศการ \"Brut-Kok\"
DESCRIPTION:Brut-Kok\nDistorted Landscapes, Future Ruins and Spirit Ho
 uses\nBy Gareth Proskourine-Barnett\n Opening Night 24 September, 5.00
 PM\nExhibition open 25 – 29 September\nCU.Museum (Chulalongkorn Univ
ersity)\n Brut-Kok is an exhibition of new mixed media work by London
 based artist Gareth Proskourine-Barnett, completed over a four-month a
rtist residency at Chulalongkorn University. The work explores the urb
an landscape of Bangkok, the development of contemporary cities, and a
sense of place.\nThe exhibition features blue prints of street sculpt
ures, urban tags that recall various walks through the city, manipulat
ed landscapes that dissolve and melt between picture postcard views an
d dystopian ruin, and alternative spirit houses that celebrate the rui
n of buildings such as the Sathorn Unique.\nThe process of constructio
n and destruction in the city fascinates Proskourine-Barnett, for him
it is as important as a completed piece of architecture. He says, “W
hat becomes apparent as you explore the city of Bangkok is that you do
nʼt need to go to Ayutthaya to see the ancient ruins; they are alread
y looming over you. The buildings of today are the ruins of tomorrow\"
