DESCRIPTION:\n\nElizabeth Romhild’s latest work turns her gaze away 
 from the lush corporeal physicality of the external subjects of her pa
 st work and focuses her attention intently on the proverbial “window
 s to the soul”. In “As Eye Am”, Elizabeth has come full circle i
 n her artistic journey, returning from her quest for finding artistic 
 fulfillment in the world beyond to searching within her own heart for 
 answers to the cosmic mystery.\n\nBy turning her gaze back in on herse
 lf in this series, Elizabeth goes far further than facilitating the ev
 eryday view of the eyes of others; these eyes, whether open in contemp
 lation or closed in meditation, are the mirrors in which the observer 
 can see their own soul reflected. In visiting “As Eye Am” the view
 er is invited to undertake their own odyssey and, guided by these lumi
 nous and subdued tones of oil, enter his or her self in a quest to cat
 ch a glimpse of Illuminated Life.\n\nIn this latest work, Elizabeth co
 ntinues to come closer to achieving the harmony for which she seeks. I
 n each act of creation the artist has lost herself and found herself a
 gain in moments of transcendence as she seeks out the seed of divinity
  kernelled within all creation. These moments leave their mark in the 
 artist’s tender caresses upon the canvas as she shares the love and 
 joy of her poetic inspiration. In seeing these symbols, the viewer wil
 l be inspired to open their eyes inward and raise the level of their o
 wn consciousness above the ordinary toward the radiant.\n\n\nละล
