 e Française Bangkok is thrilled to present a very special weekend in 
 the presence of Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul.\r\nApichatpong gre
 w up in Khon Kaen in north-eastern Thailand. He began making film and 
 video shorts in 1994, and completed his first feature in 2000. He has 
 also mounted exhibitions and installations in many countries since 199
 8. Often non-linear, with a strong sense of dislocation, his works dea
 l with memory, subtly addressed personal politics and social issues. H
 is art projects and feature films have won him widespread recognition 
 and numerous festival prizes, including three prizes from the Cannes F
 ilm Festival.\r\nThe program will consist of two short film compilatio
 ns selected by the Director, rarely shown in Thailand, a discussion ab
 out ghosts, cinema & society, to end with the special program “Echoe
 s of French Cinema”: the indoor screening of a French film chosen by
  the Director will be followed by the outdoor screening of his own fil
