DESCRIPTION:\n\nWith its painterly quality, its familiar subject—the
  sky--made strange and rare, Amorphous is an ethereal collection of cl
 oud images in which British photographer David Mitchell evokes a sacre
 d reverence. There is no sense of anchoring; the viewer is positioned 
 in a state defiant of gravity, transported to a position of weightless
 ness. There is no relationship between earth and sky, only sky and clo
 uds. The latter are neither pure abstractions nor typical depictions o
 f what we know the sky to hold either. A parallel intimacy and separat
 ion occurs. From the quiet somber notes of Animism and Ataraxia to the
  heavenly Numinous and the fortitude of Persephone, the Amorphous coll
 ection presents emotion beyond the subject itself.\n\n\n\nBio:\nDavid 
 Mitchell’s photography career started in the early eighties in Londo
 n, Florence and Milan. In 1991 he moved to Hong Kong where he found in
 stant success shooting for prestigious fashion labels including Christ
 ian Dior and Laura Biagiotti. He worked almost exclusively in black & 
 white, creating a unique signature style with conscious echoes of Jacq
 ues-Henri Lartigue. He was also a pioneer in Asia as the first success
 ful foreign photographer on the dynamic Thai fashion scene, shooting e
 xtensively for top publications. The artist divides his time between h
 is homes in Bangkok and Singapore, energized by the dynamism and color
