SUMMARY:Alliance Francaise to hold BITS 2011
DESCRIPTION:Following the successful Bangkok International Typography 
 Symposium (BITS) in 2010, Alliance Francaise de Bangkok together with 
 the Goethe Institute, Japan Foundation and Cadson Demak will again org
 anize the BITS 2011 and workshops with world-famous typographers on Oc
 tober 28 – 29, 2011.\n \nOver the last few years, designers and typ
 ographers endeavored to stress the importance and appropriate use of t
 ypography, an art for which the general public is developing an apprec
 iation. In visual communication, font design plays a crucial role as i
 t makes it possible to convey much more than words and ideas. In fact,
  typography can be used by itself to represent an identity, a brand or
  even an era.\n \nLast year’s BITS met with great success, showing 
 Thailand’s interest in typography. Throughout the two-day event, mor
 e than 250 people filled the room to capacity: communication professio
 nals and graphic artists as well as amateurs eager to know more. It wa
 s the first typography symposium to take place in Southeast Asia, and 
 attracted the attention of many Thai and foreign typographers.\n \nTh
 e 2-day symposium will feature an impressive list of well-known speake
 rs to give an insight concept of typography design as well as its impo

 shop (bold card) is being offered at THB 2,500 per ticket (THB 2,200 p
