 ay, 11th October: Beginning 6pm\nBangkok – Rebel Art Space will pres
 ent an exhibition of over 150 artworks by Vasan Sitthiket as a salon i
 nstallation throughout the gallery’s five levels. The exhibition ent
 itled Compilation, will open at Rebel Art Space on Saturday the 11th o
 f October, 2014. An opening reception will be held on the same day beg
 inning at 6:00pm, with a contemporary dance performance by artist Sai 
 Wannaphon Chimbangchong.\nWith artworks ranging in medium and spanning
  various stages in his career from the 1990’s to recent times, Compi
 lation gives visitors a rare opportunity to view a wide cross-section 
 of Vasan’s work side-by-side.\nVasan's artworks are known to be dire
 ct and outspoken. Often using a vibrant palette, Vasan's treatment of 
 the subject matter at hand often veers towards the outlandish with a c
 omplete disregard for propriety. The artist gives justification to the
  provocative nature of his work as his form of radical rebellion to ch
 ampion causes he feels strongly about.\nWhile Vasan's oeuvre also show
 s a friendlier side to his personality with series about nature and se
 x, it is the directness and fearlessness in a career spanning over thr
 ee decades which has made him one of Thailand's most prominent and int
 ernationally recognised artists.\nVasan Sitthiket was born in 1957 in 
 Nakhorn Sawan, Thailand, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fin
 e Art from the College of Fine Art, Bangkok in 1981. The artist spends
  his time between Bangkok and his studio in Nakhorn Sawan.\nRebel Art 
 Space is located in a small cul-de-sac 60 metres from the beginning of
