 4People's Gallery P3, 2nd floor\nThai Taxi Talismans exhibition at Peo
 ple’s Gallery in the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from 1 – 29 Au
 gust 2014 features photographs by artist / photographer Dale Konstanz 
 taken inside Bangkok taxis during the past eight years. The photos foc
 us on cab interiors jam-packed with lucky charms, as well as still lif
 e groupings of sacred decorations and pop culture trinkets sitting on 
 dashboards, dangling from rearview mirrors, and hanging from ceilings 
 inside the cabs. The miscellaneous icons and ornaments serve a host of
  functions, including protecting the drivers and passengers, attractin
 g cold hard cash, and simply creating a fun and happy work environment
  for the cabbies.\nKonstanz’s series documents a traditional Thai cu
 stom, but in a contemporary context. It is a subject that is quite fam
 iliar to anyone who lives in Thailand or visits the Kingdom and yet it
  is something that is often overlooked or taken for granted, especiall
 y by locals. The work is intended to be accessible, and viewers will h
 opefully be able to walk away with a greater appreciation for this fac
